FASD United Affiliates will gather in DC for a week of workshops, information sharing, celebration and advocacy. This week will consist of a number of segments, all of which you as an affiliate are welcome to attend and participate in. Your Affiliate Summit registration will include registration options for all events taking place during the week (with the exception of the Red Shoes Gala) without having to register for each event separately.
Unless noted otherwise, all events will be held at the Summit Hotel, the Hyatt Georgetown at 2121 M Street, Washington DC. You will need to book your hotel separately from the summit registration form on the FASD United Website using this link or the button below under Hotel Accommodations.

Hotel Accommodations
The Summit will be held at the Hyatt Place Georgetown at 2121 M Street, Washington DC. If you book your hotel through FASD United, rooms are $275 per night inclusive of all taxes and fees and include breakfast. You are welcome to stay elsewhere, please just indicate that no room is required. FASD United is supporting each affiliate organization in coming to the Summit by paying 2 nights at the Summit hotel per organization. Your affiliate will have been given a unique coupon code to access this benefit, contact Susan Elsworth if you need support with this. If you will be sharing a room with someone it will be noted on the hotel reservation.
The Red Shoes Gala
FASD United is providing a subsidized rate for Affiliates to attend the 2023 Red Shoes Gala. Held at the National Press Club, this will be the party of the year. The Red Shoes Gala is a black tie optional event so formal or cocktail dress is appropriate along with your red shoes.
The Red Shoes Gala is the largest fundraiser of the year for FASD United. Funds raised go to support programs that aren’t funded through federal dollars like our Policy Center and the advocacy we do for meaningful legislative change.
Summit Agenda
Monday, September 18th:
- State of the Affiliate Network 1pm – 5pm (Affiliates Only): Join us to kick off the Affiliate Summit with an update from FASD United and updates from within the Affiliate Network (business casual).
- Networking Reception 6pm-7pm: Meet with Affiliates, Researchers and Advocates from around the country. Light food with a cash bar, non-alcoholic choices will be available. (business casual).
Tuesday, September 19th:
- An Impactful Network: Widening the Circle 8:45am-4:30pm: lunch provided. (business casual)
- The Red Shoes Gala 6:30pm-9pm at the National Press Club: A separate ticket to this event is required. Black tie optional.
Wednesday, September 20th:
- National FASD Research Briefing: The State of the Science 9am-5pm: Hear from the top FASD Researchers, Advocates and Others to get insight and updates into the growth and emerging trends of the field. Lunch on your own (business casual)
Thursday, September 21st:
- Advocacy Day at the US Capitol
- Kick-off at the summit hotel 9am-10am
- Hill Visits Launch 11am
- T-Shirts Provided for participants – you will want to wear walking shoes.
