January, 2026 Monthly Meeting: New Year, New Projects
Our January meeting was FULL of announcements and updates, including a discussion on how we can collaborate among the Affiliate Network in 2026. View slides below.
We shared some funded FASD United projects that Affiliates have the option to get involved in and/or lead. We discussed some of these projects/initiatives and surveyed Affiliates to see which there was the most interest in and energy for. Below are the results of those questions.
Action Items & Opportunities
- Opportunity for a paid partnership with Project Thrive! Dr. Christie Petrenko and her team at the University of Rochester are entering the next phase of their study, creating an intervention for adults with FASD to be supported in goal-setting. We are recruiting Affiliates who are interested in providing this intervention through their organizations. - The FASD United Policy Forum is tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28th. The January Policy Forum will highlight the progress made by Affiliates and advocates in multiple states, and we will discuss how to apply the lessons they have learned to your outreach.
- We will start talking about Work Groups on the Affiliate Network. If you already know there is a Work Group you would like to join, please let Emma know and they will get you connected.
- Explore the Mental Health Work Group’s Brain-Based Mental Health Training website. Please submit any feedback on the form at the bottom of the home page.
- Our 3rd Education Survey is LIVE. Please support by putting in your newsletters, sending to educators and community members with access to educators/administrators. We are aiming to capture more professionals in this iteration. Access the survey here.

Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be on February 19, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm EST. The meeting will be discussion-heavy and we encourage you to invite any staff or committed volunteers who want to talk to other Affiliates working on similar programs. We will have break out rooms for Affiliates doing training, support, prevention, and more….
