Our November meeting was FULL of announcements and updates. Luckily, all are outlined here!

Action Items

1. Call for Abstracts Open for 2026 Adolescents & Adults with FASD Conference. Please submit if you participate in research and share with partners who are involved in research! More info here. 
2. Our 3rd Education Survey is LIVE. Please support by putting in your newsletters, sending to educators and community members with access to educators/administrators. We are aiming to capture more professionals in this iteration. Access the survey here.

3. Explore the Mental Health Work Group’s Brain-Based Mental Health Training website. Please submit any feedback on the form at the bottom of the home page.

Opportunities

1. Affiliate Orientation on Wednesday, Nov 26th from 3-4 pm. We will be onboarding our new affiliates and invite any current Affiliates to attend to review what we have available or onboard others on their staff, board, or volunteers. 2. Opportunity for a paid partnership with Project Thrive! Dr. Christie Petrenko and her team at the University of Rochester are entering the next phase of their study, creating an intervention for adults with FASD to be supported in goal-setting. We are recruiting Affiliates who are interested in providing this intervention through their organizations. Coming Soon

If you are curious about the next steps after the FASD Respect Act passed, this is it. In the next couple of weeks, you will receive requests from me and Chris Melfi, our Policy Director, to provide information on your state in a form. This form is essential for FASD United to support states and Affiliates in making “Appropriations Requests”. More information coming soon, but feel welcome to ask Chris any questions ([email protected]). 

And finally, commitment forms and dues will be due in January for 2026. You will receive more information soon.
