Welcome to a Day in the Life of an FASD United Affiliate! In posts like this, we will highlight the important work our affiliates are doing in their perspective areas.

Affiliate members are uniquely poised in the FASD field as they are the hands and feet or boots on the ground for FASD United. Each member brings their own expertise to the field, their roles range from being educators, organizers, supporters, clinicians, therapists, social workers, advocates and more. They are often caregivers or have employment outside the FASD field. Their unique perspective cannot be duplicated. Join us as we share our stories of living a life navigating the world of FASD.

Our first story to highlight is that of Chris Troutt— recently recognized as a remarkable woman by WKRN TV. Chris is a dedicated mother and FASD advocate with a HUGE heart for others. She works at FASD United’s Affiliate The Papillion Center for FASD which she co-founded in 2010. Chris is a biological mother, an adoptive mother, a stepmother, and a foster mother with twelve kiddos. With a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Chris provides specific aid in Trauma, Attachment Disorders and Prenatal Exposure to Alcohol and Drugs. Chris is licensed in Tennessee, Illinois and Kentucky as to further spread her reach.

We feel so lucky to have this wonderful woman as apart of the FASD United Affiliate Network and on the front lines with FASD and informed care.
